Why it matters
To prevent skin cancer and permanent damage to the eyes.
How to protect your child
- Apply dermatologist-approved, hypo-allergenic sun cream to the entire little body before dressing. UV rays can pass through clothing.
- Use a wide-brimmed hat to protect the neck and ears. Caps do not protect these sensitive areas as well.
- Prefer UV-protective swimwear where possible.
- Only use sunglasses with proper UV protection. Dark lenses without UV protection can allow more UV light into widened pupils and may cause irreversible eye damage.
- UV light can damage the eyes over time and may contribute to cataracts.
Vitamin B3 & Zinc
- Vitamin B3 can help to reduce the risk of skin cancer.
- Zinc can help to heal skin damage.
